I’m Sofia Mourato, founder of The Communication Ecologist. My work is guided by a simple belief: better conversations save our most valuable resources - time, energy, and relationships.

I support leaders who carry the responsibility of guiding people through transitions- mergers, layoffs, scale-ups, new systems, cultural shifts, and life changes. These moments often bring mistrust, misalignment, and misunderstandings. Too many people miss out on life because conversations break down.

My journey began when I experienced the deep presence of a Nonviolent Communication mediator. It revealed that another way of relating is possible - one rooted in freedom, trust, and meaning. Since then, I’ve dedicated my work to equipping people with the skills to build empowered, connected, and human-centered workplaces and relationships.

Leaders often tell me, “People don’t understand each other, and meaningful conversations feel impossible to sustain.” My coaching and trainings change that. Using the Nonviolent Communication framework, I combine practical tools with real-life practice: role-playing actual conversations, listening beyond words, and creating new patterns of dialogue.

Based in Amsterdam and working globally, I help leaders create cultures where people, purpose, and performance align—by learning to have better conversations with anyone, anywhere, anytime.
